Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Meltaway ("the app") is a debt payoff web app available at meltaway.pocketcalm.app. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it goes. In short: your data stays on your device and in your own Google account. We do not collect it, sell it or share it.
1. Data the app uses
- Debt data you type: the names of your debts, their kind, balances, interest rates, minimum payments, due days, credit limits, payments, notes and settings such as your first name, money sign, payoff order and extra payment.
- Your Google account email, only if you connect Google Sheets, so the app can open the right account next time.
The app does not ask for bank or card logins, card numbers or account numbers, and does not connect to your bank or your lenders.
2. Where your data is stored
- On your device: the app keeps a copy in your browser's local storage so it works offline. If you connect Google, it also keeps Google's short sign-in pass (it expires after one hour and only works for the spreadsheet the app created), so you are not asked to sign in every time. You can delete all of it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser or choosing Settings → "Disconnect this device".
- In your Google Drive, only if you choose "Connect Google Sheets": the app creates one spreadsheet ("Meltaway · My Debt Payoff") in your own Google Drive and writes your data into it. The spreadsheet belongs to you and stays in your account.
Meltaway has no server or database that stores your data. Data travels directly between your browser and Google over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
Like any website, the host of meltaway.pocketcalm.app (Cloudflare) keeps standard technical logs of visits, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the site running. These logs never contain your debt data.
3. Google user data
When you connect Google Sheets, the app requests one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file ("See, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app"). With it the app can only access the spreadsheet it created. It cannot see, read or change any other file in your Google Drive.
- The app uses this access only to create your debt payoff spreadsheet, read it when you open the app and write the changes you make.
- Google user data is not transferred to us or to anyone else, is not used for advertising, and is not used to train AI or machine-learning models.
- Meltaway's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect at any time: in the app choose Settings → "Disconnect this device", and you can remove the app's access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your spreadsheet stays in your Drive until you delete it.
4. Pictures you share
"Share my progress" draws the picture on your device. It is only sent where you choose to send it.
5. Cookies, analytics and ads
The app shows no ads and uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and sign-in is provided by Google Identity Services; Google's own privacy policy applies to those services.
6. Children
The app is meant for adults managing their own money and is not directed to children under 13.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
